Description
An editorial for the Washington Daily News by First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt. She writes of attending an exhibition of watercolors, some of which were West Virginia landscapes, by Olin Dows and Robert Gates. Mrs. Roosevelt pondered "a certain grimness" of the West Virginia landscapes brought on by the knowledge of human suffering in the area.
